Blue Sky Network’s updated SkyRouter Command Centre provides fleet operation managers with the ability to track and analyse real-time data gathered from global assets.

SkyRouter, the cloud-based mapping solution, has been developed in response to customer requirements for a more interactive, automated system that could provide users with real-time, fleet tracking.

The latest model of the system, which runs on any internet connected device, is designed to assist in maximising asset utilisation by enabling operation managers to survey all asset data in order to identify any anomalies within the flight times of pilots or platforms.

Kambiz Aghili,  CEO at Blue Sky Network, explained to Shephard that by identifying low, normal and high usage at particular times and in certain geographies users can quickly see which assets are being over or under utilised and adjust flight planning accordingly.

So far civil clients in the US, Europe and South East Asia, have been using the upgraded system to normalise flight hours by using the data collected through Blue Sky Network hardware deployed on assets.

The behavioural characteristics of pilots across the fleet can also be tracked and analysed using data such as their average speed, flight paths and flight time gathered over a customisable period of time.

With the ability to track and analyse data from an unlimited number of assets across the globe, the command centre is embedded with interactive navigation and weather charts.

‘˜We embedded all these charts, navigational charts and weather charts, all interactive for user ease. You can see the path, flight plan and you can follow the assets on the map. It is very accurate and even defines the border of the geofence,’ Aghili said.

The system can host hundreds of users, tracking a potentially unlimited number of assets and is designed to be utilised by operators with fleets in a range of regions who will benefit significantly from a fully automated system.

‘˜You can define different groups and you can have certain users viewing only certain assets and regions. You can basically allocate tasks to each user running their operation,’ he said.
