Airbus has started 2019 strong in the Asia-Pacific region as it marks orders in China and Japan for its H175 and H225 aircraft respectively.
The Japan Coast Guard has taken receipt of another H225 taking its current fleet of aircraft to 11. It also operates two AS332s alongside the Super Puma.
The coast guard will be using the platform for its security enforcement, territorial coastal activities, and disaster relief missions.
According to the company, a total of 25 helicopters from the Super Puma family are currently flown by civil and parapublic operators in Japan.
In addition to this, the Rescue and Salvage Bureau of the Chinese Ministry of Transport is adding an Airbus H175 for SAR missions to its inventory. The ministry has been a decade-long operator of Airbus’s helicopter portfolio and within its fleet are four H225s.
In the South Pacific, New Zealand operator Advanced Flight has become the launch customer of the ACH145, it was announced on 5 March.
The aircraft will be utilised for VIP and charter operations by the company. Working with Airbus for more than 20 years; the operator’s fleet comprise of one H125, five H130 and one H145. The delivery is anticipated for around Q3 2020.
Staying in Australasia, the H175 for Babcock has clocked up 1,400 flight hours since January 2018 conducting oil and gas operations.
