Ryan Aerospace has announced that it will launch its latest Helimod offering, a Robinson-based VR simulator, at the FlightSim Expo in Las Vegas from 22-23 June. The device, which features a ‘Robinson-style’ cyclic, will be configurable to represent R22s, 44s and 66s with the pedals and collective positioned to deliver a real aircraft immersion. In common with other variants of the Helimod, the console is software agnostic and will work with virtually any simulation software platform, including X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Prepar3D.

While the initial version is a VR-only solution, the company plans to expand the capability over time by adding switch and engine panels in order to pursue certification as a Mixed Reality (MR) Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD).
